Black and Tan

So, it's Friday and Master is busy editing baby pictures.... yeah for him, so boring for me and Wrigley. I have a great lookout vantage point at the top of the stairs to make sure he doesn't sneak out on a walk without me.

Mom is coming home tonight after a week in SanFran. This should make little sister Wrigley happy!

Good news on my front. My Lyme test came out good, the number is down to 199 from 330, so I'm getting better. I think the gloucosimine-chondroitin treats Master gives me really help! I am starting to shed a bit, think it's time to get a bath!

Not sure what we're doing this weekend, but it's suppose to be nice, hope we go to a dog park or somewhere I can play! I'm starting to feel like me again! I'm so comfy in my new place that I actually crawl up onto the couches when nobody is looking... unfortunately my shedding has been a dead give away! I'll work on that! The couches here are just so darn comfy though! Besides little Wrigley gets to sleep and lounge on them! Speaking of her... I love the way she eats her food, 'cus she leaves it behind for me to snack on during the day!!! Yummm, somehow I only put on a 1/2 a pound since the last vet visit, must be all those long walks 4x a day with Master.

OK, more soon! Woof!!!! Nigel

A trip to the pet store, auto shop and food raiding experiences

So yesterday I got to go to my first pet store.... I guess that means a store for my favorite things, treats, toys and food! It was a big surprise, I thought it was just a post office run, but
then we also go to go to the bank, post office and to a car repair shop... I got lots of good pets there!!! Seems like everyone likes me!

I am developing one major issue, I like to eat my little sisters' food too. Despite master's attempt to put her food in the back of her small crate, I've found a way to bounce the crate
enough to get it so I can chow some down. With my new freedom (not being crated while master is gone) I have more chances too! Today he caught me and I had to go into time out
for a few minutes....guess no treats for me today!!!

Walks, in-laws and Blackhawks

I get to go on at least four walks everyday. Master is very patient with me as I sniff and squirt my way around the neighborhood. He's less patient with Wrigley who barks at every person, dog and noise she hears... he calls it small brain syndrome... I guess I have a large brain!

Yesterday he left me out of my crate while going to the store to buy me food, glucosamine for my joints, a brush and shampoo... ughh oh? Good for me... no accidents or issues in his absence!

This weekend I got to meet both sets of in-laws, both being Labrador lovers didn't hurt, both were amazed at my good demeanor!

Tracy also gave master a new Blackhawks collar/leash and ID tag for me to him for his b-day.... we're both very happy!

A little Spa time

Today was a fun day. I got to go to the Spa with my little sister Wrigley... she goes often apparently (I think it's 'cus she stinks and has goopy eyes) Anyway, I got a bath and I think they trimmed up my coat a bit too, Master says I smell nice.... I didn't think I smelled bad before!

It was also master's b-day today, with Mom's help, I gave him a card!

Hope everyone is having a nice week... Woof! Nigel

My second weekend in captivity

Life continues to get better and I continue to open up to my new masters! A few milestones from this weekend.

- I went and saw a nice doctor on Saturday morning, he really liked me and I got some good news.
- My schedule was kinda strange as my new masters both worked on the same day.... odd, but I probably just slept anyway
- I met more friends, master Shaun's friend Jon came with his four-legged friend Maxine, she looks like me too.
- I took a car ride to Wisconsin where Shaun picked up his thing called a motorcycle from a beautiful lakeside home... I could live there! My housemate Wrigley and I played for the first time... she's kinda weird, but I'll deal with it.
- We had dinner guests, everybody loved me, I met more friends, John, Julie, Carolyn and Lauren. I got lots of pets and praises.
- I even took two #2's in one long walk... and it wasn't even on bushes, my trademark!

Days four and five of captivity

Sorry to get behind. Been a rough couple of days.

The worse thing... little Wrigley decided she wanted to start humping my leg this evening... for crying out loud... your like my sister!

But master and I went to see my new doc, she really likes me! But apparently even after getting through the heartworms treatment, I need some more TLC. I have a small hernia, a bad tooth and apparently some bad Tick gave me something called Lyme disease? So I have to go on antibiotics for the next four weeks. Guess the surgery will have to wait!

All I know is master and Tracy are sad I'm not 100% yet. We've quickly bonded and I even don't mind Wrigley, but I mostly ignore her... even when she humps my leg! Yuck!

Anyway, found a neat park this weekend and it's full of great smells, I need to stop reacting so crazily to squirrels and rabbits, oh and cats too, but other than that master says I'm a great dog.

Woof! Nigel.

Day Three... The first signs of trouble

Day three started out well enough... woke up in my crate and master came and took me on a nice walk. I saw a friend from yesterday who was washing his motorcycle, master had a nice long talk with him. Despite my accidental peeing on Wrigley, it was a good time.

After returning from the walk, master told me I didn't have to go into my crate while he and Mom went to the gym for a quick workout, well..... I have a small problem with "marking" and nobody noticed that I'd marked the area in front of masters' closet until they went to change for church....ooopps, I got the death stare and he said "BAD Dog" for the first time. I'm sad now... apparently I also marked the shirt he had out for church...glad I didn't get the suit too, so looks like I'll be hanging out in my crate for now when they leave.... my bad! Woof!
